APC candidate, Prince Abubakar Audu has tasked Governor Idris Wada to explain how he utilised the N20 billion bond and statutory allocations before collecting another bailout fund just as he weekend promised to address all concerns of workers if elected.
Audu spoke in Kabba, while speaking with newsmen on the sidelines of ceremonies marking the 70th birthday and 30 years anniversary ceremony of the reign of Obaro of Kabba, HRM, Oba Michael Olobayo.
Audu also questioned the Wada led PDP administration in the state to explain how the N20 billion bond fund and other monies collected from the federation account as statutory allocations in the last three years were spent.
“Despite the huge allocations accrued to the state under this period, the incumbent leadership still decided not to pay salaries and other emoluments as at when due, owing civil servants salaries up to 20 months.”
Audu also berated the PDP for peddling ‘rumour and insinuations’ that it is the APC in the state that caused the delay in the release of the N50.8 billion bailout funds being requested by the state, “We (APC) are not behind the non -release of the fund but no serous government in the world would release such funds to an incumbent that is going into an election; it is a known fact that such money will certainly be misused.
“I also faced such situation in 2003 when all monies accrued to the state from the federal government prior to the election time were not released until after I left office. I am even surprised they are still releasing the monthly allocation to them at this time, in my own time in 2003, it was not like that.
“The question should be what have they (State government) being doing with the allocations released to the state, that they owe civil servants up to 20 months salary arrears? It is obvious the current administration is only out to impoverish the people of the state by their attitude.”
“Will the governor or his cabinet members and political appointees take it if their allocation is being paid in percentage like they are doing to the civil servants, which is expected to take his or her monthly due in
full?. I challenged the government to come out and explain to Kogites what they have use all money accrued to the state in thirteen years of the PDP led government in the state”
The APC standard bearer who urged people of the state especially the civil servants to keep faith with his team by voting the APC in the forthcoming governorship election, promised that all salary arrears would be paid immediately he resume office.
