The United Progressive Party (UPP) presiden-tial candidate, Chief Chekwas Okorie, has said that refusal by All Progressive Congress, APC, candidate, Major General Muhammadu Buhari to participate in the scheduled debate was a great disappointment.
Okorie, however advised Buhari to jettison his advisors’ voices and participate in the scheduled debate being organized by the Nigeria Election Debate Group, NEDG.
Speaking through his campaign organisation, Okorie argued that, the scheduled presidential debate between all 14 presidential candidates and their running mates is one such event in the current development of democracy in Nigeria that should not be boycotted.
He said, “The news that the APC presidential candidate, General Buhari, will not participate in the scheduled debate is a great disappointment.”
