African Cultural Heritage is gradually being eroded away due to incursion with modernization and globalisation. Our Arts, language, Food and the Cloth we wear are almost going into oblivion.

Worse still with the death of moonlight stories and the introduction of popular home videos by Nollywood, there is the need to bring up books that are Africans, that will teach the younger ones some of the stories that will inculcate good morals to them.

Worried by this anomaly, young and upcoming author, Nathaniel Apheyso came up with a plan to address this with his new book titled My Indome story book.

The 37 pages book published by Dreamland Communications is a creative story anchored on the popular spice food Indome Noodles . Fused with good illustrations to drive home his point, the book is divided into seven chapters with seven different stories.

The book is a series of fictional stories with Indome as the hero. All through the seven stories, children are taught good moral lessons about humility, generosity, self-sacrifice, hard work and respect, as well as the consequences of greed.

In chapter one, entitled The Birth of a hero, the author tells the story of how the kingdom of food lived in the stone age. They lived peacefully until strife came up as a result of greed, and with the arrival of human beings, the need to cook foods on fire arose. That was the situation until a wise man with the help of his friend Wheat provided the food that met their needs and it was named Noodles.

The second chapter titled The Spice Kingdom, tells the story of a king whose children hated each other and the king tried all he can to settle them but did not succeed until a stranger came and brought all of them together with a special meal and the king was happy.

Reversing the curse in chapter three narrates the story of how the atrocity of a young man brought curse to a community and they became barren, many bad things happened there, each king that takes over dies and no one was ready to take the throne until a hunter prepared a medicine, named Indome Noodles that saved the community.

Lost in Adventure, Who wears the Crown?, Enemies within and All Hail King Indome made up the last four chapters and each chapter has its own story that tells of the bravery of Indome Noodles.

As it is the nature of children, the desire to know and passion for discovery always propels them to try many things and it was on that basis that the author put the stories together for them.

The book is one of the most creative series ever published in the world of writing.

It is a book that will delight the young minds, guide their creative abilities with the aim of helping them become great minds of tomorrow. I recommend it to all.
