2015: We will not campaign to Nigerians if we fail Nigerians now – PDP

AHEAD of the 2015 Presidential election, the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP yesterday vowed that it will not campaign to Nigerians for the presidential slot and other positions if it fails to deliver on its electoral promises.

Answering questions from Journalists yesterday, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh also all the governors, Senators and other elected officers on the platform of the Party to jettison the idea or aspiration of getting the party’s ticket for subsequent elections or to return to their present offices if the people score them below expectation.

Metuh stressed that the Bamanga Tukur led National Working Committee, NWC will ensure that the government at all levels deliver on its promises to the people of Nigeria through constant monitoring and supervision.

According to him, ‘’We will not come to Nigerians for campaign until we see we have delivered at least 50 per cent of our electoral promises.

‘’The PDP will ensure that the government delivers on most of its promises before we come for re-election. This also applies to the states as well. This is why the PDP chairman said the PDP will monitor and supervise activities of its elected officials.

‘’The party is focused to get the elected officials to deliver on their promises and that is the only way for the PDP to maintain its positions as number party in Nigeria.”

Meanwhile, the PDP National Chairman, Bamanga Tukur has officially round off the activities of his campaign organization, BMT,  saying that Unity of the will be the only remedy to the illness and challenges bedeviling the country.

According to Tukur, “Where ever I happen to be and have the opportunity to talk, I remind our people that our postage symbol in those days reads ‘One Nation, One people, One Destiny’. Let us all build our nation. It is ours. Let us be the ones responsible for it. If we do so, all the negative things we see today will just disappear. And that will bring us prosperity.
