The quest by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to regain power at the centre in the 2019 general elections depends on the outcome of its December 9 elective convention. This much has been stated by party leaders, governors and major stakeholders across the country in the past couple of months.

Like it happened in the 2011 and 2015 elections in Oyo State when the then ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was defeated by the All Progressives Congress, APC, the party seems not to have learned from its past mistakes as it again held two parallel congresses last Saturday where two factional state executives emerged.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has extended the closing dates for purchase and submission of Nomination Forms earlier fixed for November 19 to November 29, 2017. This according to a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, is to accommodate would-be aspirants yet to pick up their forms to do so.
