Crypto trading platform, Binance has said that the amended Federal Inland Revenue Services, FIRS charges in the ongoing court case between federal government and Binance, will let its detained official Tigran Gambaryan free.

There was a mild drama at a Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday, as detained Binance executive, Tigran Gambaryan, who is facing a money laundering charge, slumped in the open court over alleged ill-health.

 A Federal High Court, Abuja, on Friday dismissed a bail application filed by the detained Binance executive, Tigran Gambaryan.

The Federal Government says the bribery allegation by Binance is a diversionary strategy to run away from their wrong doings.

Okafor, in his prayers, on Wednesday, asked the relevant committees of the House to investigate and persecute those responsible for the escape of the Binance executive from detention.

“To invite a company’s mid-level employees for collaborative policy meetings, only to detain them, has set a dangerous new precedent for all companies worldwide.”

“I’m not aware but what I can tell you is that the last destination I know on my record of this guy when he fled (Nigeria) was Kenya. That I can confirm to you.”

“My client is anxious and very desirous to prove his Innocence. This whole thing is that they want to use the defendant as a leverage to obtain information from his employer. That is basically what this case is all about.”

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Monday, remanded a top official of Binance Holdings Limited, Tigran Gambaryan, in Kuje prison.

The other charge, filed by the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, has four counts, in which they were accused of sundry tax infractions.

“Honestly, this is a national, if not international embarrassment for our own image as a country. It raises a lot of questions. Who was prosecuting the executives, EFCC of course and he should have been in the custody of the EFCC, so why the custody of the NSA?”
