The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to do the needful and put the party and its candidates back on the ballot for the general elections scheduled for this Saturday.

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr Abubakar Malami, has, Thursday, urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to comply with the provisions of the constitution and recognise the candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Zamfara State.

The Police, on Thursday morning, barricaded the entrance to the Rivers State headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Port Harcourt following a protest by some members of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the state who threatened that there would be no election unless INEC allows the party to field her candidates for the Saturday’s election.

Urhobo Youth Employment Initiative, UYEI, has called on the electorate to “vote massively for candidates of All Progressives Congress, APC, alleging that Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, had “serially disappointed Nigerians for an excruciating 16 years” and that the APC “still needs another four years to prove itself to the masses.”

Fresh defection of over 200 chieftains of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Plateau State to All Progressives Congress, APC, is posing a threat to PDP’s confidence of winning the coming elections.
