THE Chinese have a greeting which goes ‘may you live in interesting times’. Somebody must have said that to me because I am witnessing some of the most interesting times. I am witnessing a series of events that are proving to be more entertaining than the best Hollywood and Nollywood can offer.

Does being a graduate of a Nigerian university guarantee you a good job these days? The answer is no! In a country like ours where our youths are daily faced with the Herculean task of successfully completing a bachelors’ degree under the severest of conditions, this is what we have come to expect.

ANY time I hear the word godfather, what comes to mind is the Christian position of true mentorship on the one hand and what transpired between Senator Chris Ngige, a former governor of Anambra State and his estranged godfather on the other hand. In Nigeria today, no politician can come out and declare himself a good mentor.

For so many reasons, the Governor of Enugu State, will gladly do without another festering religious controversy with its attendant klieg lights considering the pivotal role he played as the Chief of Staff to the then Governor of the State, Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani.

It beats my imagination when journalists whom people are look up to for knowledge and information go out of their way to delude the public with bare-faced lies in the name of opinion writings in newspapers all in a bid to please their paymasters.
