Nigeria LNG Limited has reconstituted the Advisory Boards for The Nigeria Prize for Science and The Nigeria Prize for Literature following the outcome of the Stakeholders Engagement Forum it held in February.

After the boom experienced in the Nigerian Movie industry in 1992 when its pioneer and first blockbuster movie, ‘Living in Bondage’ made waves in homes and was talk of town at the time, what has now come to be known as Nollywood began to regress both in quality and sales.

Television is about the only entertainment medium sustaining the industry. The Big Screen is too expensive and the stage is totally dormant, especially with ‘sale scare’ on the air to sell the National Theatre to the ‘Big Boys’, may be because it is not well maintained

Last week’s public presentation of Commonwealth short listed novel, Bitter Leaf written by Chioma Okereke at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) Victoria Island, Lagos gave Nigerians the opportunity to get fully acquainted with the author, whose new book published by Kraftbooks is currently making waves all over the world.
