The minerals and mining sector in Nigeria appears to be getting a lot of attention at the moment, especially from ‘big money’ international investors, which is truly a decent reward after more than a decade of government’s battle to reform and restructure the industry.

PORT HARCOURT: MINISTER of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr Akinwumi Adesina has enjoined Nigerians to grow the agricultural sector of the economy, stressing that it has the capacity to change the future of the country.

A FPSO (Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading) system is a converted or custom-built ship-shaped floater, employed to process oil and gas and for temporary storage of the oil prior to transshipment. The FPSO system is used extensively by oil companies for the purpose of storing oil from the oil rigs in the middle of the ocean and in the high seas.

TRADE Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC, has declared that there is no guarantee that the deregulation of the downstream sector of the nation’s petroleum industry will bring the much talk about investment in the sector.

Bayelsa State Government has called for the co-operation of major stakeholders in the oil and gas sector to check the problems of pipeline vandalism, oil theft and the rising incidence of illegal refineries.
