CHIEF Paulinus Akpeki, a consummate politician is the Commissioner for Housing, Delta State. He spoke to Vanguard on his friend, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, who he has worked closely with over the years.

The much-awaited National Conference started on Monday with most of the 492 delegates drawn from all the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory of Abuja attending the inaugural session.

Mr. Paul Odili is the Manager, Communications to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan. A political journalist, Mr. Odili in this interview asserts that Dr. Uduaghan has performed excellently in infrastructure and social programmes. He also unravels personal attributes of the governor that have kept him focused on what he claims to be an ambitious vision to position Delta State above its peers.

Well, like I said when I started the job, I said he is like an elephant. It depends on which part of him. You know when a blind man is feeling an elephant, he will feel the ear and he will think that it is a massive fan. When he feels the tusk, he will say what kind of tree is this? The point I am trying to make is basically that he is a man that has so many sides to himself. And it depends on what side of him you are dealing with before you will be able to come to that conclusion.

OUR country has witnessed several great events in the past years, indeed, within 100 years of the amalgamation of the different nations within it, under the then Governor General, Lord Lugard. It was his wife who had the singular honour of giving a common name to the various nations; she named it Nigeria.
