This group, whose most notable members are former Military President Ibrahim Babangida and Gen Abdulsalam Abubakar, both of whom were former Heads of the Federal Military Government, had declared support for Gen. Buhari in the March 2015 presidential election, as reported in the Vanguard Newspaper of Tuesday 20 January, 2015.

Herds of cattle have become so common place on major Kaduna streets that they are beginning to gain the prestige of sacred cows found on the streets of Calculta in India. The only difference here is that the Kaduna cattle are almost always with a herdsman and most residents hate them but have no choice but to tolerate them.

Sunday, August 9, 2015 was one of the worst days in the life of Pastor Solomon Folorunsho, the Coordinator of the International Christian Center for Missions, who took it upon himself to cater for over 1,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), who are victims of the Boko Haram insurgency, camped at Uhogua community in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State. On that day, residents of the serene community woke up to find over 50 trucks of armed security men stationed in strategic areas of the IDPs camp.

On August 3, Cameroonian authorities began the repatriation of the over 12,000 Nigerian refugees, who fled to that country following continued assault by the Boko Haram insurgents. Some of the refugees stayed in that country for over four years as the insurgency attack continued unabated in their villages and communities back home in Nigeria. They were disorganized and detached from their homes and relations.

From Independence in 1960 to date, Nigeria has made ten attempts to float and run a virile national airline but virtually all failed. The most successful of them was the erstwhile national carrier, Nigeria Airways that survived from 1971 to 2003, though the airline had existed as West African Airways Corporation for close to twelve years before it was renamed Nigeria Airways.
