Former Governor of old Anambra State, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife has been involved in several of the recent meetings Igbo leaders have convened to fashion a common position on whether or not to support President Goodluck Jonathan to realise his perceived presidential ambition in 2011. He gave a deep insight into the thinking of the Igbo political leadership and insisted that Ndigbo want the presidency in 2015.

In politics, it is said there is no permanent enemy or friend; and given the ever-changing nature of the game, this legend will always hold true. It is now playing out in its full colours, and will be one of the factors defining the grand celebration the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) will bathing in at the renamed Township Stadium, Umuahia, when former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, will join other top umbrellas of the Party to receive Governor Theodore Orji (fondly hailed “Ochendo” by his admirers) back to the party.

Chief Harry Akande is a founding member of All Nigeria’s Peoples Party, (ANPP). He was also former Chairman, Board of Trustees, BOT of the party. A one time presidential aspirant, Chief Akande who is seeking to become the party’s national chairman believes that ruling Peoples Democratic Party PDP has over the years not only poached on ANPP but polarised the party, hence his desire to restore it to its past glory.
