2011: Jega should watch his back – Prof Oyebode
Prof. Akin Oyebode, a lecturer of International Law and Jurisprudence at the University of Lagos, is a renowned academic and former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ado-Ekiti. He was the legal adviser to the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) between 1991 to 1992 when Professor Attahiru Jega, presently Chairman of the Independent National Commission (INEC), led the union.
In this interview with Vanguard’s Hugo Odiogor, Oyebode spoke on the character of the INEC chairman, the enormity of the challenges facing him and the infantile state of the Nigerian nation after 50 years of self rule.
‘We will provide a platform for future leaders ‘

As the electorate in Imo state warm up to participate actively in the 2011 governorship election Ibe who is known for touching base with the poor, the physically challenged and the rural poor in this interview unveiled his plans for the people of Imo State. The governorship hopeful says would ensure better platform for future leaders in the state if voted int power.

Recently, former Minister of Transport, Dr Abiye Sekibo, formally declared for the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in his village, Okrika. After the declaration, he fielded questions from journalists on the reason he left the PDP.
He also debunked the claim that he and his former boss, Dr. Peter Odili, have parted ways even as he criticised the Amaechi-led government in Rivers State, arguing that his government has shown high-handedness and arbitrariness.
