We are principal stakeholders of the party in the state. Before the governor emerged in that state, we were there. When the governor leaves, we will still be there. I have been in politics for up to 30 years or more and I have never been known to make trouble. I am a focused person and I work for success.

WHEN Prince Vincent Ogbulafor, the chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP spoke two years ago about his party ruling this nation for the next sixty years, many had dismissed him as a clown basking in the euphoria of his party’s landslide victory in the 2007 general elections or as being mischievously unkind to the defeated parties but recent developments have shown that Ogbulafor might have spoken with the benefit of hindsight.

OVER the weeks and indeed months on end, the man from the seat of power in Yenagoa, has continued to dominate the headlines and has been a good news copy for newspaper editors and the electronic media.

Since he assumed office as governor, his state has regularly engaged national attention. From mindless activities of religious fundamentalists to his celebrated marraige to one of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua’s daughters, to his grand defection to the ruling People’s Democratic Party and the recent impeachment of his deputy, Bauchi and indeed Governor Isa Yuguda have always been in the news . In this interview he spoke on those he described as religious militants and Niger Delta militants whom he referred to as ungodly people. Excerpts:
