As the Anambra State governorship election got underway on Saturday, noticeable pockets of indifference emerged across parts of Awka, where many residents appeared more interested in resuming their daily routines than participating in the polls.

Some residents and commercial vehicle operators in Awka and Onitsha in Anambra on Saturday defied the restriction of movement order by the Police Command in the state.

Voting commenced early on Saturday in some parts of Anambra State, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

At the time of filing this report, INEC had uploaded 5,685 results. This is 99.39% of the 5,720 results expected; and collated results from 19 of the 21 LGAs
