Minister of Labour and Productivity Chief Emeka Wogu, has assured Nigeria teachers of the commitment of President Goodluck Jonathan to various reforms aimed at improving the welfare of Nigeria workers.

WORRIED by the increasing rate of unfair labour practices in the nation’s Petroleum industry and its threat to industrial unrest, workers in the industry are threatening to declare industrial action to compel government and its agencies to address the menace.

AS part of measures to put paid to the incessant agitations and industrial unrest from its workforce, the Lagos State Government has inaugurated an 18_man committee charged with the responsibility of developing pay policy, review and salary determination in Lagos public service.

Recently, the military hierarchy began to make a case for the withdrawal of military men from the barely six years old Contributory Pension Scheme, CPS, introduced by the government of President Olusegun Obasanjo, a retired general of the Nigerian Army.

WORRIED by the alarming rate of unfair labour practices in the Petroleum industry and its threat to industrial unrest, the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, has petitioned the Minister of Petroleum Resources, urging him to address the issues to calm the restiveness in the sector and avoid industrial unrest.
