How blood bath was averted in Lagos after Police clashed with LG officials
The clash between policemen attached to Area ‘E’ police Command, Festac Town, Lagos and some officials of Amuwo- Odofin Local Government led by its Chairman, Comrade Ayodele Adewale, last Sunday, nearly turned bloody but for the timely intervention of Assistant Commissioner of Police, Dan Okoro, who saved the day.
Police operations and a harvest of kidnap kingpins’ arrests in Edo
Well, it is our job to Nigerians and we will continue to do it. We have arrested some of the kidnap kingpins. These ones here are the people involved in the kidnapping of some persons in Benin City. I can tell you that the war against kidnappers is on-going. We are doing everything to make sure that the state is safe, we have a lot of them that have been arrested, some are being investigated.
Double tragedy hits Edo family:
When 35 year-old Adesuwa got married to Kevin Okihria from Iruekpen in Esan West Local Government Council, Edo State in 2004, she prayed that the resentment that bedevilled the union from some of her in-laws will fade with time. Few years after the union, a lot of issues, including the couple’s inability to have a child of their own, compounded her fate. The sordid situation ended up with the death of both the mother in-law and her husband under mysterious circumstances that now pose a great threat to her life.
Police in Imo smash kidnap gang
Police detectives in Imo State recently recorded a breakthrough when they rescued a three-year-old boy from a notorious gang of kidnappers. The boy, Nse Eyisere, was allegedly kidnapped from Ugbodogwu Farm Settlement in Ovie North Local Government Area of Edo State by one Nelson Dumbiri Okoji, a suspected cult leader and taken to Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State where he was sold to one Heggai Eromaka of Ubi-Agwa in the same area. Okoji was reportedly alleged to have connived with one Ozioma, a member of his community to kidnap their victim.
Evicted family in Festac: more revelations unfold
Following the recent allegations levied against a Lieutenant-Colonel in the Nigerian Army, by some aggrieved individuals over forceful eviction from a property located at House Number 311, B close, Festac town, Lagos, a counsel to the officer identified as Victor Chinedu, has cleared the air on the allegations.
