Beware of dogs! Rabies on the prowl in Lagos
Exactly a year ago, 14-year-old James Musa had no inkling he would not live to celebrate his 15th birthday, neither did Aishat Opakunle, 21, realise that her dream of becoming a computer engineer would be dashed in the twinkling of an eye. These promising Nigerians who lived at Mologede Estate, in Meiran area of Lagos, were cut down by bites from a rabid dog in their neighborhood. They resided in the same environment with the same dog that bit them to death.
LUTH explains why cancer machine is down
The Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, has explained why its cancer machine (Linear accelerator) has not been functioning in the last two months, blaming it on technical faults. Meanwhile, the hospital has faulted the recent call for the removal of the Hospital’s Chief Medical Director, CMD, Prof. Chris Bode from office by the Lagos State branch of the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA querying the legality of such call.
