The former National Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance , APGA, and the party’s candidate for the Anambra Central Senatorial election, Chief Victor Umeh has absolved the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC , of any blame for the postponement of September 10,2016, Governorship election in Edo state, to September 28, 2016.

THE All Progressives Congress ,APC, in Edo State, yesterday accused the Independent National Electoral Commission ,INEC, of fixing a new date for the governorship election in the state without consulting stakeholders. This came as the Labour Party,LP, berated security agencies in the country for allegedly creating tension with their advice on the poll.

The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has said that the rescheduling of the governorship election in Edo by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was an endorsement of stakeholders’ view.

Candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Godwin Obaseki and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, contesting for the now rescheduled Edo state governorship elections were hosted to an interactive platform (Thinkers nest politico) by International Leadership Idea Exchange (ILIX), of the Benson Idahosa University, Edo State.

The Peoples Democratic Party has rejected the postponement of the Edo governorship election saying that the Saturday September 10, 2016 Election Date should remain sacrosanct since there is no tangible reason(s) evident to tamper with the Election.

THERE was pandemonium Thursday in Okpella, Estako East Local Government area of Edo State as supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP clashed with those of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has described the postponement of the Edo State governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as a very bad signal and beginning of the end for democracy in Nigeria, adding that; “it is obvious that the All Progressives Congress (APC) feared that it can’t win the election and is ready to employ whatever crude means to subvert the wish of the people.”
