THE euphoria following the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s regime seven months ago .appears dampened by a plethora of economic problems, one of which is the savage return of fuel scarcity, which has been on for two months.

The recent call by Honourable Sanni Zorro, the member of the House of Representatives for the Gumel/Maigatari, Sule Tankar/Gagarawa Federal Constituency of Jigawa State for the domestication of the Kampala Convention on Internally Displaced Persons (IDP’s) is a worthy idea.

President Muhammadu Buhari last week presented to the National Assembly the Federal Government’s proposal to spend N500 billion on the youth and other vulnerable groups in 2016. The proposal is contained in the 2016-2018 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper.

December 10th 2015 was the tenth year anniversary of one of the most heart-rending air tragedies in Nigeria’s history. On that fateful day, one of the airlines in the country at that time, Sosoliso Airlines travelling from Abuja to Port Harcourt, crashed while attempting to land, claiming the lives of 109 passengers on board. Only two lucky passengers eventually survived after sustained medical attention.

WE are at that time of the year when millions of Nigerians from all over the world and all corners of the nation travel to their native communities to celebrate Christmas, New Year and engage in all forms of family and communal reunion festivities.
