The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has described the controversial Nigeria Air unveiled by the Buhari-led administration as a fraud, stating that it remains suspended.

The federal government has suspended Air Nigeria Airline project indefinitely.

Earlier in the week, the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority, UK CAA, caused a stir with news that local airline operator, Air Peace, had breached certain safety regulations in the UK.

Turkish Airlines has refuted claims by  the National Union of Air Transport Employees , NUATE, in Lagos that its members are being victimizing by the airline.

Following reports that the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority, UK CAA, raised concerns over a Nigerian carrier, Air Peace, compliance with some safety regulations in the UK, the Federal Government, on Wednesday, threw its weight behind the domestic carrier.

“A key proposal made by the Nigeria Aviation Minister involves encouraging Qatar Airways to patronise local catering services on its return trips to Doha from Nigeria. This initiative aligns with the principles of reciprocity outlined in the Bilateral Air Services Agreement, BASA, and aims to stimulate Nigeria’s local economy.”

Nigeria’s flag carrier, Air Peace, yesterday described as falsehood claims by the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority, UKCAA, that it was violating safety regulations in its operations.

Irish no-frills carrier Ryanair on Monday said group net profit jumped a third to 1.92 billion euros in its financial year as higher demand and fares offset ballooning fuel costs.

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr Festus Keyamo, has urged  Air France-KLM to release its lower-priced ticket to Nigerian travellers, saying it would ensure fairness in ticketing.

The Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development has justified its reason for introducing a $300 landing fee on helicopter operators, saying it is a cost recovery measure that aligns with international best practices.

“During the meeting, Air France-KLM expressed appreciation for the improved facilities at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, particularly acknowledging the enhanced experience at wing E. They also extended gratitude for the Minister’s leadership in fostering a smoother relationship between their team and various aviation regulatory agencies.”

The Nigerian Safety In vestigation Bureau, NSIB, has commenced investigation into the runway overrun incident involving XeJet Airline’s Embraer 145 aircraft on Saturday, saying its investigators had interviewed the captain, senior first officer and purser.

Nigerian carrier, Air Peace, on Sunday, had the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan, on board its Embraer 195-E2 aircraft that flew from Abuja to Lagos.
