AWKA—GOVERNOR Peter Obi of Anambra State has reminded Nigerians about the spiritual message which the feast of Eid -el-Fitri contains, noting that Muslims’ successful conclusion of the Ramadan fast was a reminder that human society must be imbued with values that lead to and reflect the brilliance of God.

In his message to mark the occasion, the governor observed that Ei-del-Fitri celebration underscored love, friendship, brotherliness, charity and generosity, adding that at a time like this, “we are reminded of the virtues of harmonious co-existence in a diverse society like ours.”

He said greatness would come only to nations that consciously plan and work for it through consensus and confidence-building and advised the people to always make hard work their virtue.

“As we share in the celebration, may we remember that hard work and discipline are essential to safeguarding the future.

“Let us always reflect on the goodness of God which correspondingly demands greater comportment on our part.

“To move our country and society forward, we must constantly look inwards and towards the Almighty Allah,” Obi said.
