Former Managing Director of Intercontinental Bank Plc, Mr Erastus Akingbola, who was flown back to Lagos, yesterday from Abuja is to be arraigned before a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos today.

The arraignment slated for yesterday could not hold because the judge, who the matter was assigned to, Justice Mohammed Idris, travelled to Abuja, but Vanguard gathered that he would be available for the matter today, as he returned late to Lagos, yesterday.

The Chief Judge of the court, Justice Dan Abutu, had said he would personally handle the matter, but had to assign it to another judge when it became obvious that he would not be chanced to hear the matter.

Akingbola was flown back to Lagos from Abuja, yesterday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Very early yesterday, operatives of the EFCC thronged the court premises in Ikoyi, Lagos, in readiness for the arraignment, but at about 9.10am, it was gathered that the case would not go on, as the judge was said not to be around, even though it was confirmed that Akingbola had been brought back to Lagos from Abuja.
