The  Otaru of Auchi, Alhaji Haliru Momoh, Ikelebe III, wants the Federal Government to hand over the contractor handling
the Auchi Erosion Control to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) over alleged shoddy execution of the project.

The monarch who made the call when the minister of environment , Mr. John Odeh, visited him in his palace also demanded that every kobo paid the contractor, should  be recovered .

He told the minister that the shoddy work of the contractor has led to the loss of many lives and destruction of property in Auchi.

While commending President Goodluck Jonathan for declaring the Auchi gully erosion as “emergency”, he decried insinuation of tribal politics played around the execution of the project contract, insisting that what was important to him was the efficient execution of the erosion control contract and not where of the contractor handling the project comes from.
