A custom officer in charge of License and Bond of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, Tin Can Island Command, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Umar has bagged an Africa International Media Organisation award, (AIMO).
Umar, at the time of the award was described as a young spirited customs officer believed to have won the ward as a result of his patriotism, hardwork, dedication, transparency and accountability.
According to Chief Tony Obeleagu, a Maritime expert, “Umar is a young and enviable Custom officer and he is loyally and excellently performing his duty. This man deserves it because he is always willing to take measures accurately. We have also seen continuous display of dynamism in the course of his duty,†he said.
He further urged Nigerian youths to emulate Umar’s patriotism and humility, saying that such attributes are vital for national growth.“This exhibited through the acquisition of professional courses and seminars he attendedâ€.
