The new Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Association said yesterday that it was planning an international friendly between the Eagles and the Republic of South Korea .
Remarkably, the Eagles failed to beat South Korea in Durban to advance in the group stage of South Africa 2010 World Cup.
About 11 players in the team that played in South Africa may be invited.Dominic Iorfa, who heads the NFA Technical Committee, said owing to time factor, the team’s technical crew might not be able to assemble fresh players for the Korea assignment that would be a warm up for the Eagles’ Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in September.
“We are in the reforming process, and even if the Eagles were beaten 10-0; we will not bother†Dominic Iorfa said and added that, “The Technical Committee believes that between eleven and 13 players of the Eagles who went to the 2010 World Cup would form the core players in the team for the friendly against South Korea. Time is not on our hand to search for fresh players to form a complete new teamâ€.
