UGHELLI—A United States of America based Nigerian philanthropist, Mr. Enomate Oghojafor, has charged Nigerians to support government in boosting the standard of education in the country.
He said government alone cannot do all it takes to boost the dwindling standard of education in the country, lamenting that the standard of education in the country was fast falling.
Donating educational items worth thousands of naira to Ovu Grammar School, Ovu, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, he reiterated that well placed Nigerians needed to contribute their quota to the development of education in the country.
Presenting the items which include 80 laboratory stools, eight ceiling fans, 17 crayon boards and 10 packets of board markers, Oghojafor said the gesture was in memory of his late uncle, Dr. Lucky Oghojafor.
Oghajafor who spoke through Mr. Dadi Okeroghene said items were aimed at enhancing a conducive learning environment for the students and urged students of the school to make good use of them.
Noting that education was the best legacy parents could bequeath on their children, he said that the funding of education was the collective responsibility of all stakeholders.
Receiving the items, the State Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Juliet Agoba commended Oghajafor for his generosity.
Agoba who was represented by the Chief Inspector of Education, Ethiope East Local Government Area, Prince Pius Omubaye enjoined well meaning individuals to contribute their quota to the educational advancement of their communities.
