NAHCON allocates 2,677 Hajj seats to Jigawa

National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has allocated  2,677 Hajj seat for the 2017 Hajj exercise to Jigawa state, the Executive Secretary of Jigawa State Pilgrims and Welfare Board, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Alhassan has said.

Alhassan who disclosed this in Dutse, recently, said the state got an increase of 308 Hajj seats as against last year. “NAHCON allocated 2,677 seat to the state against 2,369 seat allocated to the state last year.”

According to him, out of the total number of Hajj seat given to the state 1,699 was allocated across the 27 local government areas in the state while as of last week 517 seats was sold to other indigenes of the state.

He said, the intending pilgrims from the state are expected to deposited a minimum of one million naira with condition of being an indigene of the state and physically and mentally fit.

The Executive Secretary maintained that, the State pilgrims board emerged as first among all 36 states in Nigeria to meet all the procedures required by NAHCON.

He said, the arrangement has gone far on the provision of good accommodation for the intending pilgrims close to haram in Saudi Arabia.

Alhaji Muhammad Alhassan added that, more feeding arrangement have been done as NAHCON give choices for the states to provide the most convenient company to feed the intending pilgrims.

He then commended governor Muhammad Abubakar Badaru for providing all the need support to the board for successful 2017 hajj exercise.
