BENIN—THE National leadership of Road Transport Employers’ Association of Nigeria, RTEAN, has slammed an indefinite suspension on the Edo State chairman of the association, Mr Osakpamwan Eriyo, for alleged anti-union activities.
In a statement in Benin, yesterday, National Secretary of the body, Mr Yusuf Adeniyi, accused Eriyo of high handedness, non- compliance with remittance of dues and levies to the national headquarters of the association as demanded by its constitution.
Eriyo was also accused of breaching the association’s constitution, Article 12 (c and d) and code of practice, item 8.
The national leadership directed Eriyo to handover all association’s property under his control to the constituted caretaker chairman, adding that Eriyo should not be found in or around RTEAN offices or operational bases through out Edo State as long as the suspension is in place.
