Edo by-election: APC aspirant wants party to declare him authentic candidate

By Simon Ebegbulem

BENIN—AN aspirant of All Progressives Congress, APC, in last Saturday’s primaries of the party for the January 28, 2017, scheduled bye-election for the House of Representatives seat for Etsako Federal constituency of Edo State, Mr. Blessing Agbomhere, has alleged that the rules of the primaries were manipulated mid-way to favour Mr Johnson Oghuma.

He consequently urged the party to declare him the authentic APC candidate for the election.

Meanwhile, Mr. Oghuma who polled 334 votes to defeat Agbomhere who scored 75 votes, described his victory as the wish of APC members in the area and urged Agbomhere and others to rally round him for the party to emerge victorious in the election.

However, Agbomhere, who briefed journalists, said: “Though I am not satisfied with the conduct of the primaries and that is why I have petitioned the committee in charge, I want every APC member to vote APC in the coming election.”
