Okowa assures investors of enabling environment as Shoprite opens in Asaba

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has assured investors of enabling environment,saying Deltans have embraced the culture of encouraging investors.

He made this known while performing the commissioning ceremony of Asaba City Mall popularly known as   Shoprite in the metropolitan city. Governor Okowa expressed joy at the speedy completion of the mall, noting that it was an indication that the state was investor-friendly.

The opening ceremony of the shopping mall situated at the heart of the capital city caused serious traffic grid on Okpanam road, Summit road and Westend road, as residents of the town trooped in to either shop or catch a glimpse of the new edifice.

Recalling that he laid the foundation stone of the structure in July, 2015, Okowa held that Deltans have embraced the culture of encouraging investors.

According to the Governor, the Asaba City Mall, host to Shoprite, investors from South Africa, Israel, China and other parts of the world have signed Memoranda of Understanding with the state government in areas of interest, ranging from agriculture, housing, industrial parks, among others.

The Chief Executive Officer of Resilient Africa, Mr Eddy Macdonald, who spoke earlier at the commissioning ceremony, commended the state government for creating the enabling environment for investments to thrive in the state.
