Lagos State Government yesterday, donated two Toyota Hilux Pick- Up vans to the Victoria Island Ikoyi Residents Association, VIIRA, aimed at sustaining the present achievements recorded in ensuring safety of lives and property, as well as clean-up exercise of Ikoyi and Victoria Island areas.

Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG Mr. Tunji Bello, while presenting the keys to representatives of the association, noted that the gesture was in furtherance of the need to sustain the gains of the clean-up of the areas.

He said he was committed to the success of the exercise and felt that there was the need to empower the residents association to assist in driving the campaign.
Federal Poly Nekede hosts Glo Campus Storm

Nekede, Owerri, is the next host institution of Glo Campus storm, the youth-oriented music concert of Nigeria’s foremost telecommunications company, Globacom. The show takes place this evening.

A cross section of the students of the institution expressed their enthusiasm for the highly entertaining concert which will feature some of Nigeria’s most sought-after artistes.
Some of the students, who commented include Samson Onuoha, a second-year National Diploma student.

He said: “We are seriously waiting for the show. Music concerts of this magnitude rarely happen in this school. I’m sure students from other institutions around like FUTO (Federal University of Technology, Owerri) will also attend the show.”

On the bill to perform at Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri, are Omawumi, Victoria Kimani and MI. Ace stand-up comic, Gordons, will anchor the show, while DJ XGEE will control the music console.

According to Globacom, the ongoing Glo Campus Storm is another proof of its immense love for students and the youths of Nigeria.
