In a case presided by Justice Candide Johnson granted, one of the factional NMA chairmen was granted an order of injunction restraining the conduct of another NMA Lagos State Officers’ Council election by the association’s National Executive Council, NEC.

In a motion held in Suit No. ID/1322GCM/16 and argued by the counsel to the plaintiffs, the Court restrained the conduct of the said election and adjourned the matter to 11th October, 2016.

It will be recalled that crisis started in Lagos NMA when the association’s NEC purportedly cancelled the Lagos NMA State Officers’ Council election held on 28th July, 2016 without recourse to constitutional provision.

In an originating summons filed by Dr. Omojowolo Olubunmi, one of the factional chairman, and nine others, the plaintiffs are challenging the power of the NMA NEC to annull their election into NMA Lagos State Officers’ Council.
