lagos—The Oloja of Lagos, Chief Adebola Disu-Ige Kosoko has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to keep to his repeated promise to rid Nigeria of corruption, just as he condemned the recent killings in Ikorodu area of the state.

Chief Kosoko also insisted that the president must provide all necessary support to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC to ensure successful prosecution of those indicted of corrupt practices in public sector.

Addressing newsmen at his  palace as part of activities to mark his 80th birthday holding tomorrow, the traditional ruler equally urged the judiciary to refrain from unnecessary delay of prosecuting corruption cases through frivolous injunction.

According to him: “It is unimaginable that  former minister of petroleum resources, Mrs Diezani Allison Madueke, who in September 2007, publicly broke down in tears; lamenting the condemnable state of infrastructure in the country as a result of corruption in high places, is now being accused of corruptly enriching herself to the tune of several billions of naira and hundreds of millions of dollars.”

On the issue of security, Chief Kosoko  berated the level of insecurity in the country.
