Her 46-year-old husband, Ocholugha Chris, was said to have dashed out of their apartment on Elemu area of Ijanikin after being informed by the unknown caller that security agents were on his trail, following his alleged involvement in the  June 2  rally by the Independent People of Biafra, IPOB, in Onitsha, Anambra State.

The distraught mother of two, told Vanguard: “My husband returned from a journey to his home town  in Nnewi, Ananmbra State, where he attended a relative’s burial on May 30, after which he stayed the weekend to attend to some issues, before returning to Lagos on June 4.”

She said next day, Sunday, June 5, while they were preparing for church, he received a call from someone and suddenly told me he had to run for safety, but did not disclosed who called him or why he had to seek safety in an undisclosed place.

She said: “Though he promised to call back to explain everything, weeks have passed and none of his friends are forthcoming with information on his whereabouts. Several calls made to his phone met dead silence.”

However, information gathered indicated that her husband was seen at the IPOB rally in Onitsha, during which some of the agitators were arrested.

But Mrs Ocholugha said: “My husband is not a member of IPOB. He could have been among  stranded commuters on the day of the rally.

“My children of ages three and one are yearning for his return. I am using this medium to appeal to security agents to release him if he is in their custody. We have contacted police divisions in the state but told he is not there.”
