TWENTY year old Ar-Rahman School, Magodo, has held its inter house sports competition at the University of Lagos Sports Complex, which saw Yellow, Green and Blue houses come first, second and third respectively. The school, whose last competition was held in 2010, had Barrister Mustapha Mustapha as Chairman of the Day, who declared the event open with words of encouragement.

“It gives me great pleasure to be at this 20th anniversary celebration of this great school and inter house sports competition. This event speaks of the commitment we have towards sports. I am sure that we will witness athletic performances of the highest quality today. Do your best, compete in the spirit of sportsmanship and fair play,” he said.

Quoting an Olympic gold medalist Mustapha said; “Friendships born on the field of athletic strife are the real gold of competition. Awards corrode but friends gather no dust.’ I would like to give special praise and congratulations to the sports staff who have exposed you to rigorous practice sessions. Their effort has contributed in raising the overall standard of the school sports competition.

The competition which comprised of 20 meters toddlers race, 25 – 200 meters races, elephant race, hurdles, 4x100m relay etc, saw Yellow house come first, Red house come second and Green house come third in March Pass event.
