Senator Alimodu Sheriff and allies finally gained entry into the PDP National Secretariat, on Monday, June 13, 2016.
The ousted National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Alimodu Sheriff, on Monday, finally gained entry into the national secretariat of the party, after four attempts.
This came as the Police detachment stationed in and around the PDP Wadata Plaza, were withdrawn on the orders of the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Solomon Arase.
The battle for the soul of the opposition PDP may not have been settled, following Sheriff’s insistence that he remains the National Chairman of the party till 2018. This is even as a faction of the party, led by PDP Governors, had installed the former Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Makarfi as the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party, pending when a proper National Convention would be conducted.
