ASABA—WIFE of the Delta State governor, Dame Edith Okowa, has said she was building a sickle cell centre at the Central Hospital, Asaba through her pet project, the O 5 Initiative to cater for the health challenges of sickle cell patients in the state.
Dame Okowa during a media chat with newsmen in her office as part of activities lined up for the official flag off of the O 5 Initiative, said her dream was to assist those living with the ailment have access to quality healthcare services, adding her dream was to make her pet project live beyond her.
She said: “Every clinic we have established is being established in the hospital premises and the moment we complete it, we hand it over to the hospital. I have not come here to make a name, God has given me a name. He is the only one that announces you; my report card is with him and he is the one that is ticking good or ticking bad.”
