Former military governor of Akwa Ibom State, Air Commodore Idongesit Nkanga, who was invited by EFCC on Monday over claims that he received N450 million of campaign fund from Fidelity Bank, was freed last night.
The former governor, who ruled Akwa Ibom between 1990 and January 1992, confirmed to Vanguard that he had been freed after making his statement to the anti-graft agency.
Nkanga said he was innocent of the allegation made against him.
“I am on my way home,” he told Vanguard last night but did not give further details.
