The investment summit followed advice from the Economic Advisory Committee, inaugurated last year by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State with a charge to chart an economic blueprint that will attract prospective investors for job creation, improved standard of living and boost the state Internally Generated Revenue,IGR.

While briefing newsmen at the Government House, the Director General,Enugu State World Investment Summit, Ike Chioke, revealed that the summit will target solid minerals, power generation/distribution, agriculture/processing, tourism/hospitality, health tourism development, transportation/aviation/railway, ICT/media/entertainment, free trade zone, manufacturing, industrial park, real estate and tertiary education.
