…As Galadima becomes PTDF Acting scribe

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, has expressed the hope that the Local Content policy would be extended to other sectors of the Nigerian economy to maximise the inherent gains.

The outgoing Executive Secretary of the Board, Mr. Denzil Amagbe Kentebe, in a statement, weekend, expressed the hope during the formal hand over to the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr. Patrick Daziba Obah, as the Acting Executive Secretary, last Wednesday. This comes as erstwhile Executive Secretary  of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund,  PTDF, Mr. Femi Ajayi, weekend, handed over to the Fund’s General Manager, Education and Training, Mr. Aminu Galadima.

Kentebe and Ajayi were among the 26 chief executives of federal agencies and parastatals, sacked last Monday by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Despite the legion of criticisms of lopsidedness and growing pressure to change them, Kentebe defended that he chose to continue with the personnel, policies and initiatives inherited from his predecessor, Dr. Ernest Nwapa’s for continuity purposes and urged his successor to continue in the tradition. Kentebe, who was appointed in May 2015 by former President Goodluck Jonathan, noted that the oil and gas industry is the lifeline of the nation, adding that the Board through its policies had increased opportunities for Nigerians participation in the industry.

Kentebe, who spoke at the Board’s headquarters in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, was quoted as describing his term in office as short, eventful and enlightening. While thanking former President Jonathan for appointing him, he also commended President Muhammadu Buhari for retaining him in the position for a while. Also commenting, the Acting Secretary, Obah, commended Kentebe for his services to the Board, particularly for granting access to all staff and ensuring that they worked assiduously to achieve the Board’s objectives.
