Ado-Ekiti—The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has accused Governor Ayodele Fayose of using his business associates as fronts to misappropriate Ekiti fund, asking the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to beam its searchlight on the activities of the governor.

The party also called on the anti-graft agency to beam its searchlight on the execution of the new airport and market projects in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun said in a statement that the alarm became imperative in the face of mind-boggling revelations in the execution of the proposed projects by the governor using his business associates as fronts to misappropriate Ekiti money like he did during his first term in the poultry project.

Reacting to the allegations, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi said “Contract for construction of the airport project is yet to be awarded by the government because compensation to the land owners are yet to be paid.

During the open bidding done recently, airport project was not of the projects bidded forý. I advised the Ekiti APC to look for another lie to tell”.

The APC listed instances of cloudy deals through which the governor allegedly awarded questionable contracts to his family members and friends, Olatunbosun said: “Dothraki International Limited, a business name owned by one of Fayose’s sons, was contracted for the projects on road signs and Christmas lights within Ado Ekiti in December last year.”
