Faleke: Kogi West pledges support for Bello

The political camp of Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, Kogi State Deputy Governor-Elect was thrown into disarray Monday, as leaders of Kogi West changed tracks and declared support for the Governor-Elect, Alh. Yahaya Bello.

The leaders, numbering about 50 said they have decided to congratulate and work with the Governor -Elect because of their belief in his capacity to bring development and unity to the state.

The group, under the leadership of Hon. Clarence Olafemi and Sen. Dino Melaye said the people of Kogi West have agreed to abide by the supremacy of the party which they believe is in line with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Also, the Kogi West leaders frowned at the refusal of Faleke to accept the Deputy Governorship, saying Kogi West leaders have already initiated a process of replacing Faleke in the event he carries out his threat of not attending the January 27, 2016 swearing-in ceremony in Lokoja.

The group urged  component units in the state to liaise with the Governor-Elect to ensure that the people are in united, saying the present scenario is an opportunity for the people to show strength in state’s cultural and political diversity.

The communiqué was signed by Kogi West leaders such as Chief Clarence Olafemi, Chief J.O. Yusuf, Chief Gbenga Asagun and many others.
