Fidelity Bank Plc has given out a whooping sum of N7 million, a duplex in Abuja and other consolation prizes to winners that emerged in the second draw of its on-going Save4 Shelter promo. The winners were drawn from the six geo-political zones of the country and include customers that hold various categories of Savings account with the bank. Some of the recipients of the generator sets, refrigerators among others thanked the bank and called on others to tow the same line of rewarding their customers.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Director, corporate banking, Mr Adeyeye Adepegba, said having carried out a research on the needs of its customers discovered that shelter took the centre list on their pressing needs, adding that as a way of rewarding its loyal customers and to encourage savings culture, the bank took it as a responsibility to make housing funds available for its customers.

“Having given out one duplex in Abuja, we have two more duplexes to give out. The three houses are valued at over N100 million, and N35 million cash and other consolation items valued over millions of naira, would be given to customers across the nation as rent support grants”, he said. “As a strategy of financial inclusion as promoted by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), we are encouraging our customers and the general public to save because there is a relationship between saving and development,” he added.

Mr. Olisa Ozobialu, a staff of the National Lottery Rotary Regulatory Commission (NLRC) who was present at the draw said the process is very transparent and gives every customer an equal chance of being chosen, which is in line with the commission regulations. Ozobialu called on other stakeholders to emulate the bank so that more Nigerians can boast of adequate accommodation in the country.

To qualify for the bi-monthly draw and be legible to win one of the duplexes, the customer is expected to open a savings account and grow the balance to N50, 000 or top up existing savings account with N50, 000. Qualification for the monthly draws that entitle customers to win any of N2 million, N1 million or N500,000, requires a customer to also open a savings account and grow the balance to N20,000 or top up an existing account with N10,000.
