ABEOKUTA—Ogun State Governor,Senator  Ibikunle Amosun, yesterday sent  five additional nominees to the State House of Assembly for confirmation as commissioners.

The governor’s letter which contained the names of the nominees was read on the floor of the House by the Speaker, Mr Suraj Adekunbi on Thursday.

The nominees include Messers Adedayo Adeneye, Babajide Odubanjo, Adewale Osinowo, Mrs Adenrele Adesina and Mrs Modupe Njota.

Adekunbi said the approval would enable the governor to appoint commissioners, who would help him in administering the state.

The speaker also said that a seven-man committee led by the Deputy Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo had been inaugurated by the House to screen the new commissioner nominees on Friday.

Each of the nominees is expected to come to the House of Assembly with 30 copies of their resume and original certificates tomorrow for screening. The Assembly had on October 8, screened and confirmed 18 commissioner-nominees sent by the governor.

Those confirmed as commissioners include Jide Ojuko, Sunday Bamiwola, Dr Babatunde Ipaye, Bolaji Oyeleye, Leke Adewolu, Afolabi Afuwape, Gbenga Ademosun, Kolawole Lawal, Segun Abiodun and Olumide Ayeni.

Others are Bimbo Ashiru, Rotimi Durojaiye, Adebola Adeife , Adenike Osoba, Ronke Sokefun, Muyiwa Oladipo, Olamilekan Adegbite Andrew and Amusan.

About six of the commissioners, who worked with the governor in his first tenure, also made the list.
