ABUJA—Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Chief Ufot Ekaette has announced the preparedness of the ministry to collaborate with the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, with a view to using the university’s facilities to train the ex-militants and youths in the region.
Chief Ekaette, who disclosed this measure while receiving the visiting University’s Council led by Professor Daniel Onyejekwe, Pro-chancellor and Chairman of the Council in his office in Abuja , explained the collaboration would enable the ex-militants and youths in the region to be trained in oil and gas so that they can be gainfully employed in the sector.
The Minister also assured of his Ministry’s willingness to collaborate with the institution in executing some of the University’s projects.
