Igali, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Abuja, that the Wrestlers would reproduce their performance at the Algiers 2007 Games.

“In Algeria we won six, gold and 4 bronze medals, we want to make it happen again, the team is working very hard to achieve this target.

“They have been in camp for the past four weeks in preparation for the event; we will come out victorious”.

The president said the federation had picked 21 wrestlers that would represent the country at the Games.

“The essence of the just-concluded 3-day trials was to select wrestlers that will represent us convincingly at the AAG.

“We did random selections from the three categories: five Grecco-Roman, eight freestyle and eight female wrestlers. I implore them be a good ambassadors of the country and I am very sure that they will make us proud,” he stressed.

Igali also expressed optimism that the team would win at least a medal in 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
