Nigeria’s total information and communications technology solutions provider, Globacom, has congratulated the people of Nigeria on the 16th anniversary of Democracy Day and the successful transition of power to a new civilian government.
In a statement yesterday, the company observed that democracy, globally acclaimed as the best form of governance, has taken firm root in the country in the last sixteen years as evident in the outcome of the last general elections which marked the first time an incumbent government would concede power to an opposition in an election it supervised.
Globacom commended Dr. Goodluck Jonathan for his patriotism and efforts to deepen democracy in the country, and congratulated the incoming President Muhammadu Buhari on the success of his bid for the country’s highest seat.
The telecommunications network also congratulated the Nigerian people as well as all the electoral and security institutions for the largely peaceful way they conducted the last general elections, noting that the process has significantly elevated Nigeria’s stature in the comity of nations.
