Anchor and Director of Programs on Television Continental Morayo Afolabi Brown, had a vision and brought it to life, the Political Scienec graduate always had a flair for broadcast journalism and with this great fascination she put together a team of vibrant and intelligent ladies to create the phenomenal “Your View” Tv program.

How long have you been an OAP?

Myself and the rest of the ladies have our primary jobs but being on air is something we do par-time. For, me, I’m Deputy Director of Programmes at TVC as well as the anchor of Your View.

What challenges have you faced since you started presenting?
Considering I conceptualized and developed the show, I didn’t have enough confident to host from inception. Over time, my producer believed in me and pushed me to take the bull by the horn.

Would you say you are a feminist, based on the fact that you defend women a lot?
It depends on your definition of feminism. If your definition is equality for women, and women emancipation, then I’ll say a big NO. But if feminism is giving women a platform to express their view on life as it is to them, then, I can be called a feminist.

What did you study in school?
I studied Political Science for my first degree and Social Sciences for my second degree.

What inspired you to go into the broadcasting media?
Living in the US, I fell in love with The View by Barbara Walters. Also, when I was down and out, I prayed to God to find purpose. The answer I got was to help reorientate people’s thinking, especially women. So how do I do that? I thought I needed to use the media to tool to re-educate and re-enlighten to see thing differently. My God’s grace, I was given the opportunity to start the programme and we have used the programme to not only give women a voice but to so other women life from other peoples’ perspective. Hopefully, this will give women options.

Tell us about the program “Your View”?
As I’ve said, it was created to mirror the American version of “The View”. There are 7 ladies and they are all scheduled to be on the show weekly. As the convener of the programme, I anchor it daily.

What issues do you think the incoming government should focus on?
Power, Power and Power. Everything else will fall in to place.

Since the inception of “Your View”, how have the reactions to the show been?
Tremendous. Many people love the show. Interestingly, more men have expressed their love for the show. The women prefer to love from the background.

Working with a lot of women can be tasking, would you say your relationship with your co-hosts is solid?
It is part of my core responsibility to pull and hold us together. In the beginning, there may have been differences but we have since grown to accept each other. Everyone works well together.

Have you encountered a situation whereby you had to go off script for one reason or another and how did you manage the situation?
It happens all the time. I’m lucky because as an anchor, the producer is speaking into my ears or I can call for a break when things go awry.

Did you ever envision your program getting this kind of exposure?
The truth, Your View is part of God’s divine plan so there is no way it would not gain exposure. I got the vision a long time, carried the vision and by God’s grace, it’s been birthed. Only God can sustain it, period.

What are your plans for “Your View” in the nearest future?
More community interactions. We need to get closer to our viewers and be responsible to them.
